Bird values, power-up priority, boss patterns, and the combo math behind a high score run.
Each round of Skyfall lasts 60 seconds and gives you 3 lives. Birds cross the screen in both directions at varying speed and altitude; click or tap one to shoot it. Miss a shot entirely (click empty sky) and nothing happens to your lives, but it does reset your combo, so read the section on combo scoring below before you start spraying clicks.
The sky itself is a clock: it starts as day, drifts through dusk, and ends in full starlight by the time your 60 seconds run out. That gradual shift is your best passive read on how much time is left without glancing at the HUD.
Landing hits back-to-back builds a multiplier; three in a row is enough to bump it up, and it keeps climbing the longer your streak runs. A single miss — clicking empty sky, or clicking the dove — resets it to x1. Because the multiplier applies to every point you earn while it's active, a long clean streak of crows can out-score a handful of golden birds shot in isolation. The practical takeaway: when a low-value bird and a high-value bird are both on screen and equally easy to hit, take whichever keeps your combo alive rather than whichever is worth more on paper.
Power-ups float across the screen and have to be shot like a bird to activate, which means chasing one can cost you a cleaner shot elsewhere. Early in a round, let marginal power-ups go and focus on birds; from wave 3 onward, when Phantom birds and faster spawns show up, the trade-off flips in the power-up's favor.
The wave number ticks up every 15 seconds, and each new wave both raises the spawn rate and shortens the gap between birds. That means the back half of a 60-second round is where most of your score comes from if you've kept your combo alive — a clean start matters less than surviving the escalation from wave 3 onward, when Phantom birds enter the mix and the dove becomes easier to mistake for a crow in the low dusk light.
